Since my last post on this topic wasn't completed, let me try again. At the suggestion of a friend I'm seriously thinking about buying a mac. I would like some imput from others who have used a mac before. What do you like or dislike about it? How easy is it to set the mac up? How do you turn on voiceover, connect the mac to wifi, etc/ What apps would you suggest for word processing, playing games, listening to media, etc? Since I'm thinking of buying a mac minny, does it come with a keyboard? If not, can I use the keyboard that goes with my windows desktop if I unhook it from that system and hook it in to the mac minny?

I myself own a couple Mac laptops and two Mac minis. it is a very easy machine to set
up, and you can use the keyboard from your Windows PC. If you use command five to
turn on VoiceOver, the set up process is pretty easy. You can PM me if you would like, for
commands and such to use VoiceOver. Or if you have any other questions.

have been using macs for 7 years, and love it. it's I have a mid 2010 mini and also my early 2014 MacBook air, which is my hole world. love it to death. for word processing, you can either use text edit, or pages. you also can get office for mac. music, you have iTunes, and also vlc. mail and safari are also great.

Good morning,
To my knowledge, there are not too many audio games for OS X, unfortunately.
I started out using a Mac mini in 2012, and switched to a MacBook Air in 2013 or 2014, one of those two years. transitioning from windows to Mac has been interesting indeed, and a bit challenging for me. But, once you get used to the keyboard commands and figure out how to navigate and use Voiceover, you'd be surprised at the ease with which you can do stuff on there. Apple vis has a section devoted to Mac-related help and applications.
I usually use the Mac for tweeting, e-mail, word-processing, Skype chats (not the latest version as accessibility with the latest version is nonexistent), playing music with iTunes (need to learn VLC player a bit better, but hey, whatever floats your boat), and web-browsing.

I'd switch to a make if they made Eloquence a voiceover option. Been using Eloquence for about 20 years and I've never found anything clearer.

I do prefer eloquence myself as well, even though it's not the most natural out there. Having said that, I've gotten almost as used to Samantha, who I still find to be one of the better Voiceover voices. Still trying to figure out why everyone loves Alex swo much. I'd love to get a Mac as I do a lot of sound design and music creation.

I like Alex on my phone because he's louder than a lot of the others.
